Praxis I

Praxis, which may be called motor planning, is broken into four areas in occupational therapy
literature.
• Ideation The ability to form a plan about the course of action
• Ideokinetic Understanding
(Motor Planning) The ability to conceptualize movement sequences to enact a plan
• Motor Action The ability to perform needed movements
• Motor Adjustment The ability to learn from motor feedback and refine planning and actions
