There was too much wax in the fiber of this mold.  The smoke was

 overwhelming.

I’m going to shellac the surface, use a release, and redo the wax.

That will give me time reconsider the work I did on this figure. I

want to make sure it looks like a landscape in human form.  

It should be like the clouds and the mountains.
