From Part to Whole, From Positive to Negative and Back again

The game included a folded flat six-paneled cardboard ring. The tray it would
fit onto lay by the ring in the box.
Carl picked up the flattened ring.
I guided his hands to open it and fit it to the tray.
I turned the three-dimensional form upside down and beat a pattern on its bottom.
It was a drum.
Carl took a turn.
I turned it right side up.
Carl looked into the empty interior of a then drum now box.
I guided Carl’s hands again taking the ring off the tray and pressing
the ring flat on the table again. Two forms with no meaning but having
so much potential.
We built the box drum again and turned it over to beat a short pattern.
I inverted it one more time.
Carl looked inside, picked up a small fish toy, and dropped it into the box interior.
It pinged as it hit the bottom. The box became an aquarium.
Carl smiled.
