Continued from “The Parasympathetic SeeSaw”

Matthew’s motor planning is tenuous.  

I draw a line. I demonstrate pushing the pennies and the tiny penny clips along the line. 

Then I sweep them to the side.

I help Matthew hold a pencil while pressing his stabilizing hand onto the board.  

We draw a line together.  

I cup his hands in mine.  We work together to place the manipulatives on the line.

I draw a circle.  This time I show Matthew how to use the clips as fill inside the circle.

I help him hold a pencil while pressing his stabilizing hand onto the board.  We draw

 a circle together.  

I cup his hands in mine.  We work together to place the manipulatives in this second 

circle.

Will Matthew understand this game?
