Continued from “ A Roll Of The Dice”

I’s Jake’s turn.  

  “Two!”

Jake moves his alien from the bedroom to the middle of the second hallway.  

Hayden is angry but not as angry as he might have been had Jake placed the figure at the far end of the hallway.

   “He’s winning!”  

Hayden comes close to slamming his fist on the house but stops.  He doesn’t want to ruin his work. 

   “How do you know?  It’s your turn to roll the dice.  Maybe you’ll be ahead.”

Hayden quiets.  He rolls the dice.  

   “One!”

The two aliens square off in the middle of the hallway. 

Both boys are quiet, sizing up the situation.  Then Jake says, 

  “Hi, Hayden alien.”

Hayden pauses.

   “Hi, Jake alien.
